2017 has been a long journey for my life, it gave me a lot of learning and Exploring experience for various purposes. Every step there was an avenue and adventure to be completed and I hope it takes me all through more in 2018.

This 2017 THE NEW Suzuki Swift ( has finally made its European debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Set to challenge the generation, the new-generation Swift will mark its Indian entry later this year in 2018, The newFor, while it’s taking its capture inThe new model, has witnessed significant design and interior upgrades over the model it precedes. Talking of the aesthetic changes, it receives radical changes, transforming the entire look. While the basic silhouette has been carried forward, the overall design appears more evolved and edgier.

As per now, we can’t see any changes to happned in the egine it includes the same 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS diesel.The Japan-bound version has been priced at Rs ¥1.3 million for the base 2WD variant and ¥1.9 million for the top-of-the-line 4WD hybrid variant. In Indian currency, the new Swift price for the Japanese model ranges between Rs 7.75 lakh – Rs 11.21 lakh. Thankfully, the one meant for the Indian market will cost as high as the Japan-spec model. That said the estimated new Maruti Swift price in India could start from Rs 5 lakh for the entry level variant. On the other hand, the fully- loaded range-topping variant could be priced at Rs 8 lakh.

Coming to the transmission choices, Maruti might introduce a CVT to the car line along with the conventional five-speed manual unit. In addition to the aforementioned engines, Maruti is apparently developing a diesel powertrain, displacing 1200cc. The expectations of mileage in this cars would be:

Exterior features on the new Swift include a large hexagonal grille in front, automatic LED headlamps, halogen fog lamps and floating roof. The rear will come with wraparound tail lamps, rear wiper & washer and fog lamps on the lower bumper. Also, the rear door handle is expected to be placed on the C-pillar.

Inside, there are several new features on the board including a new steering wheel, new HVAC controls with circular vents in the center, two-pod instrument cluster and automatic climate control. In terms of entertainment, the new Swift 2017 is also benefited from the touchscreen SmartPlay system and voice command & navigation system. Styling on the new Swift is modish; the contrasting trim on the dashboard, door panels, and floor reinforces the sporty character.

Compared to the current model, the 2017 Swift is 10mm shorter and 30mm taller measuring 3,840mm in length and 1,500mm in height. Width is around 1,695mm and the wheelbase is longer by 20mm at 2,450mm, implicating a larger cabin. As for the ground clearance, the Japanese model has a ground clearance of 120mm, significantly less than India-bound model at 170mm. The luggage storage space is around 37 liters.

Designed on the Baleno platform that uses 41% tensile steel, the new Swift is not only stronger and stiffer, but it is lighter as well. That said it is expected to shed off 100kgs of weight, providing better crash protection. Wearing new design cues and key elements, the new Swift is a complete departure from the current model. The front profile is all-new with a large hexagonal mesh grille transforming the face. It also gets projector headlamps and fog lamps in front.

Save for the new diamond cut alloy rims, the side face is largely identical to the current one. The integrated turn indicators on the ORVMs are borrowed from the current model. What is new on the 2017 Swift is the floating roofline that makes a huge difference to its looks. The rear profile is also revised with new wraparound tail-lamps, more pointed roof spoiler, larger bumper coloured in body paint, a flatter lid and shorter windscreen.
